Why does the US health care system – with the world’s best doctors, technology and medicine – lose so many lives? Only 5% of hospital administrators are doctors. The rest are “number crunchers” who run hospitals as businesses. Thus, support for care providers is absent, and camaraderie among hospital staff is lacking.
