Not all nations are equally set to handle this sort of threat, and some are better prepared for a digital future than others. Summary

Governments and individuals must be ready to deal with technological change, given the “digital disruption” that is underway. A ranking of 82 countries shows the nations that have best prepared to tackle that disruption. In the “historical period” of 2013–2017, Finland and Sweden top the list for having made the greatest preparations, while Australia, Singapore and Sweden rank highest for the future “forecast period” of 2018–2022. Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Slovakia, Serbia and Jordan are poised to advance in the forecast period, based on investments now taking place in those countries.
