In the UK, the average person has about five hours of free time per day. Many spend the majority of that time using their digital devices.

In the past, people had two main options for communicating with one another: You could either speak with someone who was right in front of you, or you could communicate through paper letters, sent via mail.

Imagine people sitting down at their desks to work, but before they start, they pop up and run to the mailbox to see if any letters have arrived. Then they go back, sit down to work, and in the middle of their work session, they run back to the mailbox to see if a letter has come. Then, at the end of the day, before going to bed, they run back to the mailbox to see if a letter has arrived now.

It sounds absurd, yet this is how most modern people behave today. The majority of individuals check their emails...
