Summary

The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Global Food Security Index (GFSI) measures food security in 113 countries based on nutrition’s “affordability, availability, quality and safety.” While worldwide food security has increased overall since 2007, variable economic growth, rising income inequality and climate change threaten to reverse the progress.
